Personification on canvas through paper, paint, and lots of other surprises

Working in my backyard is part of my creative process

Sharing a Canvas Rebel Magazine excerpt when I was asked to share a little about me and why I do what I do!

I am a mixed media artist, but also a writer. My mom used to joke around that I was born with a paintbrush in one hand and a pen in the other. I started to create all kinds of items when I was very young with odd materials, and my parents encouraged me by teaching skill sets that pointed my inner compass in the right direction.

In a previous life, I also taught high school English for thirty years therefore writing prose to pair with my pieces comes easy.

What sets my pieces apart is that there is meaning behind each one. I believe in the power of now and focus on themes of mindfulness, presence, and positivity and use motifs in nature to express my inner thoughts. It is personification on canvas through paper, paint, and lots of other surprises. I love all things that reflect light.

I have sold pieces out of my backyard art studio for the last ten years to clients across the United States and for all kinds of reasons. I enjoy the conversations I have with my customers to create pieces that speak to their inner soul and honors their inner wisdom.
