Bird of Prey Painting by Holli May Thomas

Watershed Moments

How are you traversing your map during watershed moments? A city lives in us riding on clouds of dreams and realizations.  Use forward motion to ride through your storms.

I used a map of Houston’s watershed system with Buffalo Bayou running down the center underneath a bird of prey flying headfirst into a storm of lightning strikes and rising water, but this piece could symbolize any tributary system including the current that rides in your own soul flying into the center of the storm but moving forward with the tide and into calm skies.

If you are from Houston and curious, Buffalo Bayou is the main center lightning strike with White Oak and Brays Bayous jetting off to the east and west.

My pieces are created by hand one by one, and I take immense pride in what I create and all the many curated parts to create a meaningful piece with good energy for yourself or a friend in case you are giving this away as a gift. All papers are hand painted by me and everything is cut or torn using my hands or an Exacto knife in my backyard art studio. Hanging hardware has already been added and this one-of-a-kind creation is ready to hang on your wall.

Please note that colors vary on different monitors.

I am always open to paying for pieces through layaway.  Use the "contact the artist" page here on my website for details!
