Ocean Wave Spiral Painting Assemblage
This piece is part of my Unity of Houston Art Gallery Collection
Title: Flow
Artist: Holli May Thomas
Size: 36” X 24” X 1.5”
Medium: Mixed Media on gallery depth canvas
The grace and grandeur of the universe flows through me.
What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us.” - Henry David Thoreau
Mixed media spiral wave on gallery depth canvas. I placed twelve mirrors on a large wave representing cosmic order, harmony, and completion. Inspired by a day spent with my toes in the sand at Matagorda Bay in Texas.
I believe in the power of words and write all the descriptions/stories myself behind each piece. This is part of my creative process, and the description is mounted to the back of all my creations.
My collage elements are designed in my sketchbook or the margins of my writing journal. All the papers on my pieces are hand painted and cut by either using my hands or my trusty Exacto knives.
All sides are painted and there is no need for a frame. Hardware has already been added to the back and your piece is ready to hang on your wall.
I am currently only shipping to US destinations and will keep you updated with a tracking number. I pack my pieces carefully due to the many elements that are added to each original work.
Payment plans (layaway) exist for all my pieces. Feel free to message me for more details.
I accept PayPal as payment. Price noted includes shipping, handling, and insurance. Taxes are calculated separately and added to your total upon checkout.
Please be aware that this piece will not ship until AFTER the exhibition is over at Unity of Houston Art Gallery. The exhibition will run from Sunday, May 14th – Sunday, July 2nd, 2023.
Please visit the Unity of Houston Art Gallery if you would like to see this piece in person at 2929 Unity Drive, Houston, Texas 77057. The art gallery is in the building between the main sanctuary and the pyramid and directly across the hall from the bookstore. Gallery hours are the same as the bookstore hours: 10:00 – 1:00 every Sunday.
