Shadow Stories
Move in front
of your own shadow
and leave your past stories
that throttle your growth
behind.

A shadow phoenix rising to the
light on the death bloom
of an agave plant.

My pieces are created by hand one by one, and I take immense pride in what I create and all the many curated parts to create a meaningful piece with good energy for yourself or a friend in case you are giving this away as a gift. All papers are hand painted by me and everything is cut or torn using my hands or an Exacto knife in my backyard art studio. Hanging hardware has already been added and this one-of-a-kind creation is ready to hang on your wall.

Gravity
Darkness may desire to
weigh you down,
but expectant twilight
wants to elevate your quest.
Allow gravity to do its work
from north, south, east, and west.

I created this piece with an expectant circling seagull on the foreground against a black heart background to represent the darkness you want to escape. I am enjoying creating these little shadowbox assemblage pieces and writing the descriptions for them. You can find her under "available works" on my website.

Fire and Light
Fire and wonder.
Riding the light.
Burning a brilliant path forward
for a rebirth - a revival
so, I may continue fighting
the good fight.
-Holli May Thomas
A fire horse altar to celebrate a new path forward. This one-of-a-kind altar features a driftwood header with textiles and wire, a fire dimensional fire horse with many layers of hand painted collage paper and crystals, and the bottom has a fire filled tassel with wood beads.

At this time in 2023 I was setting up my work for my first solo art gallery show at Unity of Houston and was asked to stand before a huge congregation to explain my work. I had the jitters before walking out on stage because I had spoken to large groups of people, but not HUNDREDS of people. I thought I was going to be sick.
