Thank you for a most wonderful sold out show at Art with Heart on Facebook. I never know what to expect and always go in with the attitude that the right person will find the right piece with a message that is singing their song.  Sometimes a piece sells, and sometimes it doesn't. This is part of trusting in divine timing and something I strongly believe in.  
One of the super cool parts about selling art is that another human being shared the same same experience as you and we are able to share that connection through a visual I created or a meaningful word that I chose and able to give each other a virtual high five. Selling art is a moment of wonder and awe. 
When I was still teaching public high school, I saw this moment frequently when a kid would say I HAVE NOTHING TO WRITE ABOUT!  And I would say "let's talk about it and brainstorm ideas" and then I would watch the lightbulb go off as they began to write. Yes! 
To be able to share art is magic across space and time.  Conversations and connections place ME square in the lap of awe.  To me, art stops time by taking a moment to breathe in all the glitter the universe has to offer.  I feel immense gratitude in sharing a moment of unity with another.  Art creates a unique connection with your humanity.
I sincerely appreciate all of your kind words and know the folks at Kerrville Pets Alive will appreciate the donation. Have a great Labor Day. I am off for my weekly Sunday morning gratitude walk!

New Collection Going Out Today!

My newest pieces are being released today with the art group titled "Art with Heart" on Facebook.

Part of the proceeds from every sale will benefit Kerrville Pets Alive.

Finding Equilibrium

Sometimes I get lost in the little details. I wanted to create a unique centerpiece for this Phoenix style bird so started digging through my quartz crystals I had dug up last year in Arkansas on a rock hounding trip.  If you love rocks, don't hesitate on visiting Mount Ida in Arkansas. I had the best time and plan on going back! 

 

So here is my finished piece along with the prose that goes with it.  She was inspired by listening to the band "Explosions in the Sky" along with similar artists on Pandora.  I am not able to listen to music with words because vocabulary frequently takes me down a distracting rabbit hole.
